Bio
Mr. Roderick C. Frye is the Director of Choral Activities at Rain High School. He is a native of Mobile, Alabama and graduated with honors from John L. LeFlore Magnet High School. He then obtained a Bachelors of Music Education with Vocal Emphasis and Masters of Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. During his tenure at Rain High School, the Rain Choral Department has been recognized for its meticulous detail to musicality and musicianship frequently receiving Superior and Excellent ratings at District and State Adjudications. Choral alumni have matriculated to colleges and universities to earn degrees in Music as well as Theater and Dance. In 2019, the Rain Choral Department advanced to the national level of NHD in the Senior Performance Division travelling to College Park, Maryland to compete against schools from across the United States. In addition, choral students have been increasingly selected and represented at the both the District Honor Choir as well as the Alabama All-State level. The Rain Choral Department consistently strive to build on its motto of "Raising the Bar & Setting New Tones."
